Meet Maddie – Founder of Southern Hounds LLC
Born and raised in New Hampshire, Maddie has had a lifelong passion for animals. Growing up deeply involved in the equine community, she was never without a dog by her side.
After earning her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Keene State College in 2021, Maddie relocated to Upstate South Carolina to pursue her Doctorate in Chiropractic. It was during this time that she adopted a Plott Hound named Annie. Their training journey ignited a passion for dog behavior and balanced training methods.
Today, Maddie shares her life with two Plott Hounds—Annie and Dixie—and has dedicated herself to helping other dog owners build strong, respectful relationships with their pets. Her mission is simple: to help you enjoy your dog as much as she enjoys hers.

At Southern Hounds LLC, our mission is to transform the lives of dogs and their owners across Upstate South Carolina through effective, balanced training methods. We work with dogs of all breeds, backgrounds, and ages—helping them become well-mannered, confident companions.
Our approach is rooted in clarity and consistency. We reinforce positive behaviors like sit, stay, and calm greetings, while also addressing unwanted behaviors such as pulling, jumping, and reactivity. It’s all about helping your dog understand what’s expected while building a strong foundation of trust, structure, and communication.
